DEPARTMENT OF PLASTIC SURGERY
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT :
The Department of Plastic Surgery was started in the year 1984 with the Post of One Professor and One Assistant Professor. It was started to cater to the needs of the Trauma Cases admitted in this Hospital which is situated in the main arterial road line of Tamilnadu.

We have 16 beds for in patient needs. We have weekly 3 outpatient clinic (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and two Operation theatre days (Thursday and Saturday). With two tables available in the Main Operation Theatre (MOT).
Our OP census consists of 40 to 60 patients with 10 to 15 new cases and the rest old cases on follow-up. We also have referral cases from related Surgical Specialities (Orthopaedics and General Surgery).
